Example 2: The Mask of Hijab
Hijab and Burqa are covers to protect the face from climatic conditions, the need for feeling of privacy, and of course personal beliefs. in other words, they are the fruit of people’s inner beliefs embodied on the outer surface. The common purpose of Hijab and mask is to cover the subject. nevertheless, the subject which is hidden inside them and their motives are different. Thus Hijab’s purpose is to display an inner belief while a mask is to display a matter of appearance. If Hijab is not based on an inner belief, it shall then serve as a mask to abide by the social norms i.e. the reality.
